Dover Precision Components, located in Houston, TX, is seeking an experienced machinist to setup, adjust and operate lapping and grinding machines and related tooling. The role requires reading drawings, inspecting parts, and maintaining tight tolerances from standard work.

The ideal candidate will perform machine set-ups for close tolerances, document production time, train junior machinists, and maintain 5S standards in a busy shop environment.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be able to measure parts using micrometers, calipers or other measuring tools.
• Must be able to read and interpret drawings and blueprints.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in machining or related field.

Responsabilidades

• Works from drawings, sketches and specifications in completing various machining operations.
• Performs machine set-ups to obtain close tolerances, fitting and alignment of machined parts.
• Obtains required inspections on first pieces of a run according to prescribed procedure and performs inspections on work-in-progress using measuring devices.
• Maintains records of time, part counts, first piece inspections, and requisition forms for each job.
• Makes jigs, fixtures or other specialized non-production devices as assigned.
