Job summary

Karman Space & Defense in Arlington, WA is seeking a Machinist III to independently set up and operate advanced 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC centers on mission-critical aerospace hardware.

You'll machine exotic alloys like Inconel and titanium, perform GD&T-based inspection, and collaborate with Engineering, Programming, and Quality to ensure flawless first-piece and in-process results. First shift, competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years CNC machining in precision manufacturing.
• Able to set up/operate 3–5 axis machines with minimal supervision.
• Experience on Inconel, titanium, stainless steel, copper.
• Conversational Fanuc/Siemens programming.
• Basic CAM with Mastercam/ESPRIT/CATIA.
• Experience with AS9100 quality system.
• Strong GD&T and blueprint reading.
• Knowledge of tooling, fixturing, probing, feeds and speeds.
• Proficient with precision metrology equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 3–5 axis CNC centers.
• Prove out new/unstable setups with Programming/Engineering.
• Mach. one-of-one and low-volume flight hardware.
• Edit G-code with Fanuc/Siemens controls.
• Install fixtures, tools, probes, datums, and related setup items.
• Interpret drawings and GD&T requirements.
• Perform first-piece and in-process verification.
• Troubleshoot machining and tooling with teams.
• Stop-work when risk exists.
• Mentor less-experienced machinists.
