Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. seeks a Level Two Machinist to operate 2-5 axis CNC/Automated machine cells and standalone machines. You will set up fixtures and tools, load CNC programs, and interpret basic prints.

Expect interaction with automated software, first-piece checks, and maintaining 6S standards in a high-output environment. The role requires basic English, PC skills, and the ability to work weekends (Fri-Sun, 6am-6pm).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; CNC operator / machinist diploma or certification preferred.
• Machine Tool Technology degree a definite plus.

Responsibilities

• Position is a Friday, Saturday & Sunday position from 6am to 6pm.
• Operate 2-5 axis CNC/Automated machine cells and standalone machines.
• Perform basic machine setup including fixtures and cutting tools; load and adjust CNC programs and offsets.
• Use advanced quality inspection tools and techniques (height gauges, bench inspection).
• Read prints and understand CNC G and M codes; interact with automated software systems for troubleshooting and production constraints.
• Ensure part quality with measuring equipment and 6S workplace standards.
• Maintain machines through daily preventive maintenance; report abnormalities.
• Communicate with manufacturing on first piece acceptance and process stoppage when parts fail.
• Possess safe working practices and comply with plant safety guidelines.
