Job summary

Husky Technologies operates a large Milton, Vermont manufacturing campus and is seeking a Senior CNC Machinist to set up, operate, troubleshoot and optimize CNC machines. The role focuses on producing high-quality parts with tight tolerances while following blueprints, work instructions and established processes.

You will support continuous improvement and collaborate with multiple teams to meet production goals.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of CNC machining experience
  • Experience setting up and operating CNC machines independently
  • Strong understanding of CNC machine controls and processes
  • Basic understanding of G-code and CNC programming fundamentals
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and work instructions
  • Ability to use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, indicators and gages
  • Experience maintaining close tolerances in a precision manufacturing environment
  • Solid mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machines such as mills, lathes, drills, grinders and other equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and work instructions.
  • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain tooling and select the correct tools for each operation.
  • Inspect completed parts using measuring instruments and gages to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Perform part cleaning and finishing operations as required.
  • Make quality decisions regarding part conformance, finish, and workmanship standards.
  • Communicate equipment, tooling, quality or process concerns to supervisors and team members.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, process improvements and manufacturing capability studies.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Programming, Engineering, Maintenance and other team members to meet production, quality and delivery objectives.
  • Provide training, mentoring or guidance to other technicians as needed.
  • Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized and safe.

Husky’s primary United States manufacturing facility is located in Milton, Vermont on a large, beautiful campus just 30 minutes north of downtown Burlington. This 280,000 square foot bright, clean manufacturing environment is set on 700 acres of private land. Job Description

Salary Range: $32 - $36 per hour

Summary of Role: As a Senior CNC Machinist, you will set up, operate, troubleshoot, and optimize CNC machining equipment to produce high-quality parts with tight tolerances. You will work from blueprints, work instructions, and established processes to machine, inspect and verify precision parts while maintaining a safe, clean and productive work environment. In addition to machining responsibilities, you will serve as a technical resource by supporting continuous improvement initiatives, troubleshooting manufacturing issues and helping develop machining standards.
