Job summary

Husky Technologies™ at Milton, Vermont, is seeking a Senior CNC Machinist to set up, operate, troubleshoot and optimize CNC equipment for high-quality parts with tight tolerances. You will read blueprints, work instructions and established processes to machine, inspect and verify parts while maintaining a safe, clean environment.

You will support continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 8+ years of CNC machining experience.
• Experience setting up and operating CNC machines independently.
• Strong understanding of CNC machine controls and processes.
• Basic understanding of G-code and CNC programming fundamentals.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings and work instructions.
• Ability to use calipers, micrometers, indicators and gages.
• Experience maintaining close tolerances in a precision environment.
• Solid mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail, organization and time management.
• Basic computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Understand and speak basic and technical English.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines such as mills, lathes, drills, grinders and other equipment.
• Read blueprints, drawings and work instructions.
• Monitor machine performance and adjust as needed.
• Maintain tooling and select correct tools for each operation.
• Inspect parts using measuring instruments to ensure conformance.
• Perform part cleaning and finishing operations as required.
• Make quality decisions regarding conformance and workmanship standards.
• Communicate equipment, tooling, quality or process concerns to supervisors and team.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and manufacturing capability studies.
• Collaborate with Quality, Programming, Engineering, Maintenance and others to meet goals.
• Provide training or mentoring to other technicians as needed.
• Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
• Keep work areas clean, organized and safe.
