Job summary

ADDMAN Engineering in Glen Burnie, MD, is seeking a skilled machinist to set up, operate, and maintain a wide range of machine tools, ensuring parts meet precise tolerances for defense, space, and aerospace customers. You will read blueprints, select tooling, monitor operations, and collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve issues.

This role emphasizes safety, quality (AS9100/ISO 9000), and continuous improvement, with opportunities to train others and contribute to 5S

Qualifications

Previous machining experience and with quality processes is desired.
Some exposure and experience with manufacturing /CNC machining processes.
Understand continuous improvement or lean / six sigma principles.
Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.

Responsibilities

Set up, operate, clean, and maintain machining equipment onsite including lathes, mills, 3-axis and 5-axis machines.
Read blueprints, sketches, drawings, and manuals to determine dimensions and tolerances; follow setup requirements.
Select proper programs, fixtures, tooling, and inserts as needed.
Monitor machine operation and adjust parameters to maintain tolerances and efficiency.
Collaborate with engineers and production staff to resolve machining issues.
Perform basic maintenance and housekeeping to ensure safe, clean work environment.
