Job summary

BestLogic Staffing is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist for a direct-hire, full-time role in our automotive manufacturing client’s lathe department. The ideal candidate will independently set up and operate Nakamura CNC lathes, interpret blueprints, select tooling, and optimize feeds and speeds while maintaining quality and productivity.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of CNC machine setup experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and manufacturing instructions.
• Interpret technical drawings and work instructions; operate and set up CNC lathes.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; knowledge of machining feeds and speeds.
• Support and train operators within the CNC Lathe Department.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathe equipment, including Nakamura machines.
• Work independently from blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
• Select, change, and set all required tooling.
• Determine and adjust appropriate feeds and speeds.
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections.
• Properly use and understand measuring and gauging equipment.
• Ensure the quality of all products produced on assigned machines.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and production issues.
• Train and monitor operators within the department.
• Perform required 5S activities and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Conduct line walks in the lathe area as directed by the supervisor.
• Follow all company safety policies and promptly report unsafe conditions or practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
