Job summary

FMI Composites LLC in Winston-Salem, NC seeks a Composite Operator III - Machinist to set up and operate CNC lathes, 3, 4, and 5 axis mills, and other equipment. The role writes G-code and Mazatrol to manufacture composite parts per specification and supports tooling fabrication for fixtures.

Responsibilities include safety, reading instructions, interpreting blueprints, determining tolerances, and performing CMM probing.

Qualifications

• High school or technical schooling required; minimum 3–5 years industrial experience
• Two to four years related experience and/or training; equivalent education accepted
• U.S. citizen with ability to obtain security clearance per export controls
• ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 / AS9100 experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes, 3, 4, and 5 axis mills and conventional/CNC equipment
• Write CNC programs using Mazatrol or G-code to machine composite parts to spec
• Perform in-process CMM probing and final acceptance probing
• Lead team activities and train department staff
• Maintain safety, read specifications, interpret blueprints and dimensions
