Job summary

FMI in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a Composite Operator III - Machinist to set up and operate CNC lathes, multi-axis mills, and related equipment. You will write Mazatrol/G-code programs, fabricate tooling, and perform preventative maintenance while ensuring safety and quality standards.

The role requires 3–5 years of industrial experience and familiarity with Mazak lathes; this is a full-time, on-site position with potential for process improvements and team leadership.

Qualifications

• High School/GED or technical school with related industrial experience, training or equivalent from two-year college/technical school.
• Minimum 3–5 years related and current industrial experience; 2–4 years related experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes and 3, 4, and 5 axis mills; write CNC programs to machine composites per specs.
• Write CNC code in Mazatrol or G-Code; perform tooling fabrication for fixtures.
• Perform in-process CMM probing and final acceptance probing; track data for SPC.
• Lead departmental activities and training; cross-train in other areas as directed.
