Job summary

RESPEC is seeking a Content Strategist to lead digital content strategy and governance for the GeoInfo web presence. You will align sitemap, taxonomy, and migration planning with the agency’s program directors and subject matter experts.

Work with a delivery team to establish editorial policies and modular content models, and develop staff training resources for ongoing governance after launch.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of professional content strategy experience.
• Leadership in content governance and editorial operations.
• Experience with taxonomy/metadata architecture and large-scale migrations.
• Experience with Drupal or Wagtail CMS.
• Ability to translate technical content for diverse audiences.
• Strong SOPs, playbooks, and staff-facing documentation.
• Excellent facilitation and cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience with public-sector or research institutions preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish institutional content standards across departments.
• Diagram end-to-end editorial workflows with staging and archiving.
• Plan taxonomies, metadata schemas, and structured CMS types.
• Create a CMS Handbook and staff training resources.
• Develop a phase-based Content Migration Plan.
• Support data ingestion and inventory audits for GeoInfo content.
• Guide content optimization for high-visibility landing pages.
• Define multi-tier editorial permissions and roles.
• Advise on staffing and post-launch governance.
• Deliver CMS Training Manual and live training sessions.
