Job summary

SharkNinja, a global product design and technology company headquartered in Needham, MA, is seeking a Senior Designer, CMF - Soft Goods. You will lead CMF direction from concept through production, elevating user experience and brand distinction across multiple products.

Join the Ninja Design Team of industrial, UI/UX, and CMF designers. You will forecast color and material trends, develop mood boards and samples, and own end-to-end CMF specs, while mentoring junior designers and coordinating

Qualifications

• 5–8 years in color, material, and finish design — consumer electronics or consumer products preferred.
• Expert proficiency in color theory, trend forecasting, and manufacturing processes.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating CMF leadership and end-to-end ownership.
• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead CMF concept and strategy development aligned with product design goals and brand.
• Own trend forecasting on color, material, and finish trends; translate insights to direction.
• Create mood boards, color palettes, and material/finish samples for senior reviews.
• Direct supplier and manufacturer relationships for feasibility, innovation, and cost-effectiveness.
• Own end-to-end CMF specifications and documentation across production teams.
• Lead design reviews across projects, providing strategic direction on CMF aspects.
• Guide prototype and sample development through to production sign-off.
• Mentor associate and junior CMF designers to raise capability and craft.
• Establish and maintain CMF materials library and best practices.
• Serve as SME on materials, color theory, and manufacturing technologies.
