Job summary

AbbVie is seeking an Associate Director, CMC Portfolio Management in North Chicago, IL to lead the development and maintenance of CMC project plans for Product Presentation & Device Strategy Teams (PPDST) using standardized tools and processes. These CMC plans guide decisions across R&D and operations, including roster management and timeline swim lanes.

The role demands extensive project management experience, cross-functional leadership, and deep drug development knowledge.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific discipline with 10+ years in pharma/biotech, or advanced degree with 8+ years, or doctorate with 4+ years.
PM/Process improvement accreditation highly preferred (PMP/LEAN Six Sigma).
4+ years of Project Management experience with cross-functional leadership.
Strong written and interpersonal communication; ability to influence and present proposals.

Responsibilities

Provide advanced project management support for complex drug development projects, including CMC plans and roster management.
Lead PPDST team meetings, capture actions, drive accountability, develop multiple planning scenarios.
Ensure tool access and accurate AMP data for resource estimates and program reviews.
Identify process improvement opportunities and align tasks with departmental strategy.
Mentor junior staff and share best practices in training and presentations.
