Job summary

UofL Health in Louisville, KY is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to provide administrative support and staff training. The role includes maintaining quality control on CLIA waved laboratory equipment and coordinating communications among patients, hospitals, physician offices, pharmacies, labs, and insurers.

The position requires at least five years as a Medical Assistant, a high school diploma or GED, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Medical Assistant
Electrocardiogram (EKG), vital signs, venipuncture, capillary, and injection experience preferred
Ability to communicate with patients, hospitals, physician offices, pharmacies, insurance companies, and laboratories regarding scheduling, tests, results, and care-related information
HIPAA compliance and confidentiality responsibilities

Responsibilities

Coordinate staff schedules and patient flow with the office manager.
Maintain daily CLIA waved laboratory quality checks.
Communicate with patients, hospitals, pharmacies, and insurers regarding appointments, tests, and prescriptions.
Train new hires and externs on EMR usage and clinical procedures.
Prepare clinic charts, manage faxes, and maintain office supplies.
Ensure HIPAA confidentiality and compliance in all tasks.
