Job summary

UofL Health is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to provide administrative support and frontline patient care in a busy outpatient setting at 401 E. Chestnut St, Louisville, KY.

You will train staff, perform quality checks on CLIA waved labs, and coordinate communications among patients, physician offices, pharmacies, labs, and insurers to ensure smooth scheduling and care delivery. The role requires at least 5 years of MA experience, valid certification, and CPR/BLS readiness.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years working as a Medical Assistant.
• CPR and BLS certifications required within 3 months of employment.
• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Medical Assistant certification (NHA) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support and scheduling for staff and patients.
• Perform training for staff and assist with quality control checks on CLIA waved lab equipment.
• Communicate with patients, hospitals, physicians, pharmacies, and insurers regarding appointments, tests, results and prior authorizations.
• Maintain charting, EMR data entry, and patient records with accuracy and confidentiality.
• Assist with direct patient care tasks under supervision and ensure patient safety and comfort.
