Job summary

Vanguard Medical Group in Farmingdale, NJ is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant III to support clinical and administrative tasks, serving as a resource to the care team and mentoring new staff.

The CMA III will assist providers during exams, take vital signs, administer medications, and perform in-office testing. This role emphasizes efficient visit workflow, EMR documentation, and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Medical Assistant Certification (CMA/RMA/CCMA) strongly preferred.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in a medical office or ambulatory setting preferred.
• Proficient EMR knowledge; Athena experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and assist providers during exams, procedures, and treatments.
• Take and record vital signs, medical history, medication reconciliation, and chief complaint.
• Administer medications and injections per provider instructions and document in the EMR.
• Perform in-office testing (EKG, urine dips, strep tests) and assist with phlebotomy as needed.
• Assist with minor procedures including sterilization, wound care, and dressing changes.
• Provide patient education and ensure patients understand next steps.
