Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school, or 1+ year verifiable MA clinical experience.
• Minimum three years as Certified Medical Assistant.
• Maintains current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification.
• Maintains current certification/registry by: CCMA (NHA), CMA (AAMA), CMAC (AMCA), NCMA (NCCT), NRCMA/NRCAMA (NAHP), RMA (AMT/ARMA/AAH)

Responsibilities

• Accountable to the Assistant Nurse Manager, Nursing Operations Manager, or Practice Manager for operational issues.
• Participates in quality initiatives and clinical outcome improvements.
• Supports professional communication with patients and families.
• Collaborates with administrative and operations staff.
• Gathers patient data through interview and observation.
• Assists patients and families with preparation for examination.
• Assists physician/APP during examination and procedures.
• Documents patient data, treatments, and education per policy.
• Prepares and schedules tests and specialty appointments as directed.
• Manages calls professionally and coordinates orientation for Medical Assistants.
• Supports development of quality strategies within the practice.
