Job summary

Ulta Beauty is seeking a Senior CloudOps Engineer to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance of our cloud-native platforms on Google Cloud Platform. You will partner with engineering, architecture, and operations teams to drive automation and improve deployment pipelines.

The ideal candidate has deep Kubernetes experience, strong scripting skills in Bash and Python, and a track record of building resilient DevOps toolchains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years development experience with solid programming abilities including unit testing and debugging.
• Strong cloud architecture knowledge and design/development patterns.
• 2+ years’ experience on cloud platforms such as GCP, Azure, or AWS.
• Experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Experience with Windows and Linux OS.
• Experience with Bash, SQL, Java, Perl, Groovy, Python or equivalents.
• Experience with GCP products such as Kubernetes and Istio.
• Experience with Git/Bitbucket.
• Experience with Docker, Jira, Jenkins, or MongoDB is a plus.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage, monitor, and optimize GCP workloads including GKE, Compute Engine, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub.
• Operate, troubleshoot, and optimize Kubernetes clusters using kubectl and Helm.
• Build, maintain, and enhance CI/CD pipelines and automate deployment workflows.
• Develop automation using shell scripting, Python, and gcloud CLI.
• Lead incident triage, root cause analysis, and long-term remediation.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in DevOps and cloud operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional and offshore teams to execute complex projects.
