Job summary

Amazon CloudFront is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to join our Video Delivery team in Seattle, WA. You will design, build, and operate distributed systems that deliver video at global scale.

You will mentor engineers, influence architecture decisions, and push for low latency and reliability across HTTP/DNS/TCP/UDP. This role offers exposure to cutting-edge streaming tech and collaboration across AWS.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate distributed systems that deliver video on a global scale.
• Drive technical strategy and architecture decisions for video delivery infrastructure.
• Own the full software development lifecycle — from requirements through deployment and operations.
• Explore and apply AI/ML‑driven approaches to optimize video delivery and quality of experience.
• Leverage AI assisted development for fast prototyping, design and coding.
