Job summary

The Fountain Group in San Diego, CA is seeking a Sr. Software Cloud Test Engineer for a 6-month contract-to-hire role. The position is on-site and requires hands-on expertise in cloud testing, Python automation, and medical device verification.

Lead and mentor teams while coordinating across cross-functional groups to ensure quality in cloud applications and embedded software. Responsibilities include designing comprehensive test strategies, validating Azure cloud services, and supporting CI/CD

Qualifications

• Strong cloud software testing experience.
• Azure OR AWS – Azure preferred.
• Strong hands-on Python coding / test automation.
• Engineering degree.
• Senior-level testing background with strong understanding of cloud fundamentals.
• Technical leadership – experience leading/mentoring engineers.
• Strong communication and ability to coordinate with global teams.
• Hands-on tester, onsite in San Diego with early schedule.
• Must still be a hands-on tester.

Responsibilities

• Lead verification and validation activities for cloud-connected medical device systems.
• Design, develop, and execute test plans, strategies, and cases.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test frameworks and scripts using Python.
• Test Microsoft Azure cloud applications, services, APIs, and infrastructure.
• Validate embedded software used in regulated medical device products.
• Execute functional, integration, system, regression, performance, and end-to-end testing.
• Collaborate with software, systems, DevOps, cybersecurity, and quality teams.
• Analyze defects, perform root cause analysis, and drive issue resolution.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and automated quality gates.
• Mentor and provide technical leadership to other test engineers.
