Job summary

Google Cloud is seeking a Senior Technical Writer in Kirkland, WA to craft developer documentation, architecture guides, and cloud solution briefs. You will work with engineers, product managers, and solutions architects to translate complex technology into clear, actionable content.

Strong written communication, experience with code samples, and shaping content strategy in an Agile environment are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Professional Writing, English, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field with 6 years of post-baccalaureate experience in technical writing.
Alternatively, a Master’s degree in the same fields with 4 years of related experience.
4 years of experience writing accurate, clear technical content (developer docs, CS course material, or IT playbooks) using industry-standard style guides; content planning; working with SMEs in Agile; interpreting source code/diagrams; leading content projects.

Responsibilities

Write technical documentation for developers and cloud architects building private Google Cloud solutions.
Produce new, high-quality content to help customers succeed.
Curate and maintain the customer-facing content library for accuracy and relevance.
Edit, clarify, and proofread documents from engineering and product teams.
Coach non-writers and SMEs to improve writing skills; collaborate with a global engineering/content team.
