Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for a contract role. The position is remote with Ashburn, VA or Gaithersburg, MD hybrid considerations, offering a W2 hourly rate of $60.00–$70.00. The work spans cloud architecture, security, DevSecOps, and AI‑assisted engineering.

Requires a United States Citizen with an active Public Trust clearance and willingness to work on a W2 basis. The role emphasizes guiding design across architecture, integration, security, and verification,

Qualifications

Experience with hybrid on‑prem to AWS designs and cloud architectures.
Hands‑on with ECS, EKS, and OpenShift including Kubernetes, Helm, and pipelines.
Track record in integration, V&V, and fielding for regulated environments (FISMA High/FedRAMP High).
Security architecture experience with SSP/ATO mappings.

Responsibilities

Lead cloud architecture and planning for hybrid on‑prem to AWS designs across VPCs, GovCloud and regions.
Conduct platform trade studies for ECS, EKS, OpenShift with cost and effort modeling.
Drive integration, verification and fielding within FISMA High boundaries, including GovCloud cutover.
Apply DevSecOps practices, CI/CD, security scanning, SBOM and secrets management.
