Job summary

Leidos seeks a Cloud & Compute/Storage Architect to support a large-scale FDA IT infrastructure transformation. The role balances hybrid cloud/on-prem, leading high-visibility architecture across AWS, Azure, and GCP, while ensuring security, governance, and cost control.

Responsibilities include end-to-end compute/storage, container services, backup and DR design, IaC, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Hybrid onsite in the DMV area; U.S. citizenship required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years in federal IT infrastructure or managed services.
• 3–5 years in a senior architect or technical lead role on enterprise IT environments.
• Hands-on multi-cloud architecture (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP) with IaC and DevSecOps.
• Strong knowledge of compute environments (physical, virtual, hybrid) and VMware.
• Experience designing enterprise storage, backup, and DR at scale.
• Hands-on with container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker EE, Swarm).
• Familiarity with cloud cost management across CSPs.
• Excellent collaboration across teams; U.S. Citizenship; ability to obtain Public Trust.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior architectural authority for Compute, Storage, and Backup across FDA data centers and clouds.
• Own the distributed server strategy with VMware and high-availability clusters.
• Architect storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions at scale.
• Lead FDA's Container-as-a-Service environment (Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker).
• Define IaaS across AWS, Azure, and GCP landing zones with CSP alignment.
• Guide DevSecOps practices and IaC using Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Govern cloud access, entitlements, and CSP account structure.
• Support transitions and validate as-is architecture for migrations.
• Mentor Cloud Engineers and provide Tier 3 incident support.
• Coordinate with FDA Change Control Board and other leads.
