Job summary

Gen Digital is seeking a Principal Site Reliability Engineer to define reliability strategy and lead cloud-native initiatives across AWS, Kubernetes, and GCP. You will shape incident readiness, observability, automation, and platform standards with cross‑functional teams.

You will mentor senior engineers, drive capacity planning, and elevate engineering practices to ensure scalable, secure services, while aligning with global SRE standards and governance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, platform engineering, or infrastructure engineering with a track record of leading large-scale cloud initiatives.
• Deep expertise in AWS and Kubernetes with hands-on experience designing and operating large-scale containerized systems.
• Proven success defining and implementing SRE practices such as SLIs, SLOs, incident management, observability, and production readiness standards.

Responsibilities

• Define long-term reliability strategy for the platform across services and teams.
• Lead architecture decisions for highly available distributed systems on AWS, Kubernetes, and GKE.
• Establish and mature SRE practices including SLI/SLOs, error budgets, and production readiness reviews.
• Guide platform evolution with infrastructure automation using Terraform and IaC tooling.
• Drive next-generation observability with metrics, logging, tracing, and dashboards.
• Lead major incident response and post-incident reviews for durable improvements.
• Influence engineering standards and guardrails across regions and teams.
• Champion resilience, disaster recovery, and capacity planning for mission-critical systems.
• Collaborate with security/compliance to strengthen controls in PCI, SOC 2, and NIST contexts.
• Advance CI/CD and delivery pipelines to improve safety and speed.
