Job summary

The Digital Sector at Leidos has an opening for a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) / Senior Cloud Engineer to work in our Baltimore, Maryland office. You will design, build, and operate the highly available cloud infrastructure supporting the CRM modernization for CMS.

Responsibilities include architecting secure multi-account interconnectivity, supporting container/serverless workloads, and driving observability and continuous security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 6–8 years in cloud engineering or SRE
• Experience building highly available AWS infrastructure following the AWS Well‑Architected Framework
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, automation, and configuration management of cloud resources
• Experience designing Disaster Recovery for cloud workloads including Multi‑AZ/Multi‑Region resilience
• Ability to obtain Public Trust

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate highly available AWS infrastructure for the CRM modernization
• Architect secure multi-account VPC interconnectivity between CMS Enclave and Pega Cloud for Government in AWS GovCloud US‑West
• Support container and serverless architectures (e.g., AWS Lambda, Glue) for data integration and APIs
• Apply SRE practices: define/track SLOs, error budgets, and reliability metrics
• Build and maintain observability across AWS and Pega environments with centralized logging and monitoring
• Lead incident response and root‑cause analysis for production issues
• Automate provisioning with Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible
• Design and test Disaster Recovery capabilities including backup, failover, and Multi‑AZ/Multi‑Region resilience
• Support CI/CD pipelines with automated testing and security scanning
• Coordinate cloud provisioning and lifecycle with CMS Hybrid Cloud Team
