Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. is seeking a Solutions Architect III in Irvine, CA to partner with customers and design end-to-end solutions that reduce costs, mitigate risk, and unlock new revenue streams. You will mentor fellow architects and shape technology strategy across customer engagements.

You will balance reliability, security, performance, and cost optimization while translating business objectives into pragmatic technical designs and leading deep-dive discussions with customer teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience

Responsibilities

• Design and own end-to-end customer solutions by understanding business context, clarifying assumptions, and architecting systems that balance reliability, security, performance, and cost optimization.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers, building relationships with senior leaders and guiding their technology strategy to align short-term decisions with long-term business outcomes.
• Lead technical discussions with customer teams, diving deep into design choices, best practices, and use cases while proactively identifying high-risk or overly complex solution options and engaging the right expert resources when needed.
• Develop and deliver thought leadership content — including sample code, presentations, white papers, and workshops — that educates customers on technology strategy and contributes reusable patterns and reference designs for the broader architect community.
• Collaborate with internal teams across sales, engineering, professional services, and support to accelerate solution adoption, gather product feedback, and translate customer needs into clear requirements for product and engineering teams.
