Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Expert Software Engineer with 10+ years of experience to lead cloud migrations and modernize legacy applications. The role requires full-stack expertise, strong DevOps practices, and experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and monitoring tools.

You will collaborate across teams, produce documentation, and engage with clients on project deliverables. The position demands hands-on development in Python/NodeJS/Angular/JS/C#, with a focus on secure systems and compliance.

Qualifications

• Over 8 years of hands-on software development experience.
• Experience with EKS/Kubernetes or other container orchestration software.
• Hands-on experience with secure systems engineering, systems integration, and reverse engineering.
• Proficiency in programming languages (at least two): Python, NodeJS, Angular, JavaScript, C#, SQL.
• Experience with cloud technologies. Experience working with tools like JIRA, Confluence, Splunk, and diagramming applications.
• Strong skills in debugging, performance optimization, and DevOps practices.
• Background in on-call support and operational monitoring of critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead software development projects from requirements analysis through deployment and maintenance.
• Design and develop software solutions using Python, NodeJS, Angular, JavaScript, C#, and SQL.
• Migrate existing systems to the cloud and establish new CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance system operations with Splunk and Grafana/Prometheus.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage agile processes with Jira/Confluence.
• Produce technical documentation including ICDs, system designs, and procedures.
• Reverse engineer legacy codebases and create UML models.
• Support secure communications systems, ensuring compliance with standards.
• Research and adopt emerging technologies to improve architectures.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex software, performance, and infrastructure issues.
• Communicate with clients on project activities and deliverables.
• Lead process groups to analyze existing processes and craft new strategies.
