Job summary

Amentum is seeking a senior cloud-focused engineer to design and maintain modern cloud infrastructure across AWS, emphasizing scalable, secure architectures. The role involves building reusable IaC modules, implementing monitoring, and driving cost-efficient cloud solutions.

Ideal candidates have extensive experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK, and containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes, plus strong Java/React development background.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline is required.
• Five (5) years of software development/engineering experience in similar programs.
• Three (3) years of programming with Java, C, and/or C++ within last five years.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure with best practices and governance.
• Build reusable IaC modules (Terraform, Helm charts) and enforce standards.
• Monitor health and performance; log and alert to improve efficiency.
• Develop recovery strategies including backup and high availability.
• Contribute to runbooks, architectures, and operational procedures.
