Job summary

NetApp is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to join the Cloud Platforms group. You will help build cloud-native infrastructure, software-defined storage, and virtualization platforms across major cloud providers.

The role focuses on Linux systems, distributed storage, and virtualization tech to empower enterprise data management solutions. You will design and optimize components across storage services, networking, and infrastructure, while collaborating with cross-functional teams

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in systems software engineering or storage platform development.
• Strong programming expertise in C/C++ and Python.
• Deep understanding of operating systems internals, concurrency, memory management, and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize components across the storage and virtualization stack.
• Contribute across multiple projects involving storage, networking, and cloud infrastructure.
• Develop or maintain Linux user-space and kernel-space software related to storage subsystems and virtualization.
• Work with virtualization technologies including KVM/QEMU, libvirt, and virtio.
• Debug and resolve complex system-level issues in distributed systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in code/design reviews.
