Job summary

Koniag IT Systems, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, seeks a Senior Server/Cloud Engineer to design, deploy, and support enterprise server and cloud infrastructure for a federal civilian customer. The role is remote and requires ability to obtain a Public Trust.

Responsibilities include migrating legacy workloads to AWS GovCloud, managing VMware vSphere environments, and implementing infrastructure-as-code with Terraform and Ansible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years in server and/or cloud engineering roles.
• Expert-level administration of Windows Server and Linux in enterprise.
• Experience migrating workloads to AWS GovCloud.
• Experience with VMware virtualization (vSphere/vCenter).
• Experience with containers/Kubernetes and cost-optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and administer Windows Server and Linux systems for enterprise apps.
• Lead migration of on-prem workloads to AWS GovCloud during data center consolidation.
• Administer VMware environments, including capacity planning and lifecycle management.
• Build infrastructure-as-code and configuration management for repeatable deployments.
• Support Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, and IAM across hybrid environments.
• Collaborate with security to remediate vulnerabilities and support continuous monitoring.
• Participate in BDCR design and testing for critical systems.
• Produce technical docs, architecture diagrams, and runbooks.
• Provide Tier 3 support and on-call rotation.
