Job summary

Xcelerate Solutions is seeking a highly skilled cyber security professional for a hybrid role in Bethesda, MD. The candidate will assess architecture, artifacts, and BOEs to support RMF and DIAC RMF processes while implementing robust security controls for cloud-based and containerized environments.

The role requires TS/SCI with poly, strong Linux hardening and Kubernetes expertise, and DoD 8570 IAT certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, CS, or related field and 8–12 years of experience OR Master’s degree with 6–10 years of experience.
• DoD 8570.01-M IAT and IAT II or higher certs (CCNA Security, CySA+, Security+ CE, CISSP) and ability to obtain PUA/elevated access.
• 5+ years of experience hardening Linux hosts and applying DISA STIGs
• Experience securing Kubernetes platforms and integrating security into CI/CD pipelines and containers
• Experience developing ATO/IA packages and familiarity with NIST SP 800-37, SP 800-53, CNSSI 1253

Responsibilities

• Collect, review, and provide feedback on cybersecurity artifacts, architecture, and engineering documents.
• Review BOE results to support RMF cybersecurity authorization processes.
• Conduct periodic vulnerability assessments for cloud-based systems and risk analysis.
• Implement and manage security controls for containerized apps and cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with DevSecOps and software teams to ensure secure coding and engineering practices.
• Integrate security measures into SDLC, CI/CD pipelines, and engineering tools.
• Develop scripts and automation for STIG compliance and validation.
• Manage continuous monitoring of cloud-based architectures.
• Assist Government cybersecurity officials with IATT, ATO, and Change Requests.
• Stay current with emerging cloud security threats and best practices.
