Job summary

Capital Solutions Group is seeking a Sr. Cloud Security Engineer in Linthicum, MD to strengthen the security posture of cloud environments. The role focuses on developing AWS service-specific guidance for SD/USD handling and aligning practices with RMF standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong security engineering background, experience with RMF applications to cloud transitions, and the ability to advise government stakeholders on moving solutions from on-premises to cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Experience with Security in the Cloud, particularly AWS.
• Strong understanding of RMF and its application to cloud environments.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience with secure data handling and classification.

Responsibilities

• Develop and document AWS service-specific guidance for managing SD and USD, including handling caveats and read-in procedures.
• Review RMF guidelines applicable to on-premises and cloud environments.
• Translate existing on-premises security processes into cloud security best practices aligned with RMF.
• Provide recommendations to government stakeholders on transitioning solutions to cloud environments while adhering to security policies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security controls and secure cloud deployments.
• Assist in security assessments, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives for cloud environments.
• Keep abreast of evolving cloud security standards, AWS services, and relevant certifications.
