Job summary

Target is seeking a Lead Engineer for Cloud Security in Minnesota. You will own backend services that aggregate and act on cloud security findings, partnering with platform and security teams to deliver scalable, reliable solutions.

You will design and operate the findings pipeline, build RESTful services, and mentor engineers while shaping technical direction and governance. A hybrid work setup applies in this role.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of software engineering with platform/backend focus.
• Proficient in Kotlin, Java, Spring Boot; other modern language.
• Experience leading a software capability end-to-end at enterprise scale.
• Strong API design, distributed systems and data pipelines.
• Cloud platform experience (GCP preferred).
• CI/CD, testing and observability proficiency.
• Secure software development practices; awareness of AI/ML considerations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Cloud Security team's backend services across platforms and incident response.
• Design, build, and operate the findings pipeline with clear data contracts and SLAs.
• Own the API surface, data models, and integration with enterprise dashboards.
• Mentor engineers, set technical direction, and drive multi-quarter roadmaps.
• Collaborate with security, product, and platform teams to ensure secure, scalable delivery.
• Ensure production reliability with observability, testing, and on-call readiness.
