Job summary

Google is seeking a Security Engineer to strengthen the Cloud Security posture across Google Cloud Platform. You will work with engineers to identify vulnerabilities, design controls, and drive risk reduction initiatives across the Google cloud stack.

The role emphasizes leadership in technical risk analysis and collaboration with multiple security teams to protect users and developers of Alphabet's cloud services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling.
• 5 years of security engineering, computer and network security and security protocols.
• 5 years of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages.
• 1 year of experience leading teams in a technical capacity or leading technical risk analysis in an enterprise environment.

Responsibilities

• Identify security issues and implement and design security controls, tools, and services to improve security systems and processes.
• Define the infrastructure to analyze, deploy, and manage vulnerability management across Google.
• Build a data driven approach to identify existing vulnerabilities to improve the security posture of Alphabet's use of GCP.
• Partner with other security engineers and teams to prioritize and execute on security debt reduction efforts to deliver the team's objectives and key results.
