Job summary

Opengear, a Digi International brand, is expanding its Information Security capability in Sandy, UT, hybrid. We seek a Senior Information Security Engineer to design, implement, and improve security across products, cloud environments, and corporate systems.

You’ll work with engineering, DevOps, QA, and product teams to embed security throughout the SDLC. You will perform threat modelling, risk analysis, and develop security tooling, automation, and monitoring.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of information security, application security, or security engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks and best practices.
• Experience securing cloud environments, especially AWS.
• Experience implementing IAM controls and access management.
• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure coding practices.
• Experience with vulnerability assessments and remediation programs.
• Familiarity with security tools including vulnerability scanners and SIEMs.
• Experience integrating security controls into CI pipelines and development workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls across cloud, SaaS, and on‑prem environments.
• Embed security into SDLC and CI processes with engineering teams.
• Lead vulnerability management activities and remediation tracking.
• Conduct threat modelling, risk analysis, and security assessments for products and infra.
• Develop and maintain security tooling, automation, and monitoring capabilities.
• Mentor engineers on secure coding practices and security issues.
