Job summary

Veeam Software, Inc. is hiring a Security Engineer III to own threat detection and response across our cloud estate.

The role focuses on building a security data lake, writing detections as code, and hardening Azure and AWS environments to protect regulated data across multi-tenant setups. You will deliver Terraform-based controls, automate triage, and drive remediation in collaboration with Platform Security and SRE teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in security engineering, cloud operations, or detection engineering with hands-on production ownership.
• Production Terraform modules maintained for consumption by other teams.
• Operational depth in Azure and AWS: identity, logging, and egress controls.
• Demonstrated detection building with telemetry and tuning for FP rate.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the security data lake with telemetry from Azure, AWS, SaaS, and endpoints to enable rapid investigation.
• Write, tune, and version-control detections as code, deploy via CI/CD, measure FP rate, and retire ineffective rules.
• Automate triage and enrichment, wire runbooks into tooling, and reduce MTTD/MTTR for priority alert classes.
• Harden Azure and AWS environments: RBAC, boundaries, and secret handling across tenants.
• Deliver cloud security controls as Terraform that propagate across environments automatically.
• Turn posture findings into a prioritized remediation queue with partner teams.
• Run detection coverage assessments against threat frameworks and close gaps.
• Set direction on detection and cloud security tooling, including what to adopt or retire.
