Job summary

Viasat is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to join our Security Engineering team. You will help drive a cloud engineering-focused, cross-technical-domain vision within Global Infrastructure & Security, enabling secure, innovative cloud solutions for customers, partners, engineers, and employees.

You will design security templates for cloud platforms, provide architecture guidance, and drive compliance with security frameworks while collaborating with cross-functional teams to embed security

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS/CE or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of practical security experience.
• 5+ years of engineering or software development experience.
• Strong AWS and GCP architecting and development knowledge.
• Hands-on with secure cloud design and deployment.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain reusable security templates and reference architectures for Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• Provide architecture guidance and security reviews to meet best practices and standards.
• Drive compliance to security frameworks including CMMC Level 2 in applicable cloud orgs.
• Partner with engineering teams to embed security controls early in development.
• Develop cloud security solutions, reusable templates, and standardized best practices with a cross-functional team.
