Job summary

Abnormal AI seeks a Senior Cloud Security Engineer to architect scalable, AI-assisted security across AWS, owning design reviews, threat modeling, and incident response. You will mentor engineers and drive security tooling adoption, including SIEM/SOAR integrations, while promoting robust IaC practices with Terraform and CloudFormation.

The role emphasizes strong coding skills (Python/Go), familiarity with AI agents, and cross-functional collaboration to harden platforms and protect customers.

Qualifications

• Proven delivery in security engineering or infrastructure security roles, ideally in cloud-native environments.
• Deep comprehension of native AWS architecture services and identity/access patterns, plus Azure and GCP
• Strong scripting and dev fundamentals in Python and/or Go; read/modify AI-generated code; Git/Linux
• Fluency directing AI coding/agent tools to accelerate delivery with sound judgment
• Expertise in integrating or building tooling for SIEM, SOAR, vulnerability management, CSPM
• Experience deploying security controls via Terraform or CloudFormation, AWS-focused
• Comfortable investigating logs and contributing to incident analysis workflows
• Proven ability to influence and collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, infra, product, and IT
• Strong written communication and documentation skills
• Background with Kubernetes workload security and service mesh controls

Responsibilities

• Lead threat modeling and security design discussions with platform and product teams.
• Review security architectures for data exposure, access control, and abuse risk; leverage AI for rapid first-pass analysis.
• Collaborate with Platform/Infra/DevOps to build scalable preventative controls in AWS via IaC.
• Evaluate and uplift security tooling across cloud-native and AI-assisted capabilities.
• Mentor engineers on leveraging AI for security tasks and codify feedback into playbooks.
• Prototype automation for signal correlation, alert enrichment, and auto-remediation; productionize successful flows.
• Architect, build, and validate AWS integrations with SIEM, SOAR, IAM tooling; maintain human ownership of critical decisions.
• Contribute as a hands-on security contributor during incidents, guiding root-cause analysis and response.
