Job summary

EY is seeking a senior cloud engineering leader to advance AI-enabled services across the firm’s cloud platforms. You will define and scale secure, observable, and cost-conscious infrastructure to production as part of Challenger, EY’s program for next-generation services.

The role emphasizes hands-on engineering, architecture review, and mentoring engineers to raise enterprise readiness while navigating hybrid work arrangements and up to 50% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 9–12+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience designing and operating cloud/infrastructure in production.
• Strong coding and automation skills.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, modern runtimes, networking, identity, and delivery automation.

Responsibilities

• Build shared cloud foundations, reusable infra, deployment automation.
• Apply AI tools responsibly while reviewing, debugging, testing and validating code.
• Review architectures, migrations, and releases for reliability, security, performance, and cost.
• Define evidence for production readiness and operation.
• Establish service objectives, observability standards and actionable alerts.
• Test workload assumptions and guide scaling and architecture decisions.
• Lead deep investigations into failures and test durable fixes.
• Design resilience through performance tests, recovery exercises, and rollback paths.
• Publish reference implementations and guidance for ongoing use.
• Coach engineers and transition capabilities to operating teams.
