Job summary

Coalfire is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to own an operational capability across managed cloud estates, automate runbooks, and drive reliability through monitoring, alerting, and recovery. You’ll design telemetry pipelines, implement IaC, and lead incident management for major events.

Candidates should have 5+ years in SRE or cloud operations, strong Terraform/Ansible, and hands-on AWS/Azure/GCP experience. The role supports a flexible work model with nationwide opportunities.

Qualifications

• BS or above in a related IT field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in site reliability engineering, cloud operations, or related work.
• Hands-on with AWS/Azure/GCP and automation tooling.
• Proven incident command and post-incident automation experience.
• Experience with IAM, FedRAMP or security controls is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own an operational capability for managed estates, including its automation and runbooks.
• Design telemetry, logging pipelines, SLOs, alerts, and escalation paths.
• Build and maintain continuous-monitoring evidence pipeline.
• Lead backup/recovery engineering and outage automation.
• Serve as senior escalation point and drive blameless post-incident reviews.
• Automate toil with IaC, pipelines, and scripting; define cross-client standards.
• Mentor engineers and drive operational readiness for transitions to managed operations.
