Job summary

SMX seeks a Project/Task Manager (Mid/Senior) to lead cloud initiatives supporting Air Force migration and secure, scalable multi-cloud infrastructure. You’ll oversee cross-functional teams, drive delivery, and ensure compliance with DoD requirements across IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and Kubernetes platforms.

The role requires strong agile PM skills, security mindset, and effective communication with government stakeholders. A Secret clearance and DoD delivery experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and 4-7 years project management experience for mid-level and 9 years for senior-level.
• Active Security Clearance Required: Secret
• 4 years of related IT/cloud management experience
• Experience in Agile, Scrum, SAFe, and hybrid DoD delivery models; familiar with sprint planning, PI planning, backlogs, adhocs, and releases
• Must be able to interact with government clients, peers, management, and tech leads in a constantly evolving environment to ensure a positive customer experience
• Strong written, analytical, organizational, presentation, customer service, and facilitation skills

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional teams through execution of enterprise cloud initiatives across IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and Kubernetes-based platforms within DoD environments
• Manage project scope, status, schedule, budget, resources, risk, and deliverables in alignment with contract requirements and government expectations
• Organize, assign, and track IT technical development tickets (i.e. JIRA/Confluence)
• Communicate with team, leads, and PM project status through reporting and meetings internally, externally, and to government management
• Prepare documentation and briefs on project status, budget, schedules, etc. for presentation to customers and management
• Familiarity with cloud networking and integration patterns
• Experience with cloud transformation methodologies and tools
• Knowledge of cloud security protocols to protect data and systems
