Job summary

SMX is seeking Software Engineers (Junior/Mid/Senior/SME) to design and implement secure, scalable multi-cloud infrastructure for USAF missions, with focus on AWS and other clouds. The role encompasses onboarding cloud-enabled apps, deployment, and ongoing support.

Applicants should have a degree (or equivalent cert) and 1–3 years (junior) up to 16+ years (SME), plus DoD Secret clearance and CompTIA Sec+. Proficiency in Java/J2EE, IBM Maximo, WebSphere, and cloud tooling is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification required; minimum 1–3 years for junior.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification plus 4 years for mid; 8+ years for senior; 16+ for SME.
• Active Secret security clearance required.
• DoD 8570 compliant certification: CompTia Sec+.
• Experience with IBM Maximo (custom development and integration).
• Experience with cloud-based systems (AWS/Azure/OCI/GCP) integration.

Responsibilities

• Design, architect, and optimize secure software solutions in AWS, Azure, Google, and/or Oracle cloud environments.
• Navigate client-facing engagements and work with other vendors.
• Contribute to technical discussions with customers or vendor teams.
• Define and engineer solution capabilities that satisfy customer requirements and service delivery objectives.
• Implement automation for provisioning, configuration, security, and monitoring using DevOps practices.
• Develop and apply engineering methods for cloud environments.
