Job summary

Avaloq Group is hiring a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer in Fort Lauderdale to design and operate our AWS foundation and developer experience. You will help product teams ship securely and efficiently while ensuring data is managed in a secure, performant environment.

The role involves collaboration with teams in Zurich, building guardrails, and maturing our observability and FinOps practices. This position is a key early hire for our Fort Lauderdale site and offers hybrid working options.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, or DevOps with strong AWS experience.
• Hands-on IaC experience with Terraform or OpenTofu, including multi-account landing zones.
• Clear point of view on observability for distributed systems and the reasoning behind it.
• Solid automation and scripting ability; languages such as Rust, TypeScript, or Python.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills to influence product teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and operate the multi-tenant AWS environment with guardrails and baselines.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code modules and landing zones.
• Collaborate on the observability approach for a distributed serverless system.
• Support FinOps practices: cost visibility, per-tenant attribution, and tuning.
• Mentor colleagues and foster a platform-as-a-product culture with governance.
