Job summary

Request Technology, LLC in Chicago seeks a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, deploy, and operate a global cloud platform. You will work with Terraform, Kubernetes (EKS/GKE), and GitOps to automate infrastructure and CI/CD across multiple teams.

You will assist in incident response, performance tuning, and on-call rotations, ensuring secure, scalable cloud environments and adherence to best practices.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS and GCP preferred).
• Hands-on experience deploying and managing Kubernetes (EKS, GKE) and GitOps (Argo CD).
• Experience with Terraform, CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions), and scripting (Python).
• Strong Linux experience and networking/IAM knowledge.
• Familiarity with cloud observability and common cloud services (VPC, EC2, S3, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a globally distributed cloud infrastructure platform using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Collaborate with Cloud Platform Engineering and business unit application teams to engineer infrastructure solutions for cloud-based apps.
• Design, deploy, and operate Kubernetes-based platforms and workloads (EKS, GKE) including GitOps workflows (Argo CD).
• Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
• Perform system and database maintenance including deployment, backup, patching, and upgrades.
• Maintain cloud environments through incident response, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Participate in on-call rotations and support operational readiness.
