Job summary

Cogniify, Inc. is seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to design and build cloud-based products on AWS. You will own development end-to-end, from ideation through CI/CD, security scanning and production monitoring, and serve as a senior technical contact for projects.

You will mentor junior engineers, define platform standards, and collaborate with application teams to improve installation and configuration on the platform. This is an individual contributor role with minimal travel.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure in production environments.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience. Technical certification may be required.

TheRole

Cogniify is hiring a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to help designand build cloud-based products and services on AWS. This role helps define ourcloud platform, including automation tools and standards, CI/CD pipelines,DevOps tooling and AWS account provisioning automation, and works withapplication support teams to improve how applications are installed andconfigured on the platform.

You will own development end to end, from ideation through CI/CD,security scanning and production monitoring, lead major technical initiativesand act as a senior technical point of contact for projects. You will alsoserve as the subject matter expert for your platform capabilities and mentorjunior engineers. This is an individual contributor role with minimal travel.

WhatYou Will Do

• Help define the cloud platform,including automation tools and standards, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tooling andAWS account provisioning automation.
• Work with application support teams toredefine how the platform interfaces with application installation andconfiguration.
• Solve complex technical problemscreatively, with a clear understanding of the key business processes theplatform supports.
• Lead major mid-to-large initiatives andown development end to end, from ideation through CI/CD, security scanning andproduction monitoring.
• Improve processes, develop long-termtechnical strategies and act as the primary technical contact for projects andtechnical engagements.
• Communicate strategy acrossorganizational levels, lead strategic initiatives and engage senior internaland external stakeholders on significant technical matters.
• Document infrastructure througharchitecture diagrams, runbooks and READMEs, and make sure work ismaintainable, performant and observable.
• Lead incident response and root causeanalysis for high-impact issues, and make decisions on access, permissions andsecurity controls.
• Serve as the subject matter expert forassigned capabilities and mentor junior engineers.

WhatWe Are Looking For

• 9+ years of experience (7+ years with aMaster’s degree, or 11+ years with an Associate degree), including at least 7years of cloud infrastructure experience in highly available productionenvironments.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field,or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A relevant technicalcertification may be required.
• Advanced knowledge of AWS, especiallyhosting services such as EC2, RDS, Systems Manager and IAM.
• Advanced knowledge of infrastructure ascode, especially Terraform.
• Intermediate knowledge of cloud andinfrastructure automation.
• Ability to communicate technicalstrategy clearly to stakeholders at every level of the organization.

PreferredExperience

• Experience in regulated environments,including SOX- and FDA-regulated settings.
