Job summary

Cognite in Phoenix seeks a Full Stack Engineer to advance Cognite Data Fusion with autonomous teams solving critical industrial data problems.

You will build APIs and front-end features, collaborate across disciplines, and help enable data-driven decisions for asset-intensive industries. This role emphasizes ownership, rapid iteration, and a culture of learning and impact.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of full-stack software engineering experience.
• Strong Python coding with modern backend frameworks.
• Frontend experience with React/Angular/Vue and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with cloud platforms and containerization.
• Familiarity with distributed open-source tools.

Responsibilities

• Work with a wide range of systems, processes, and technologies and own and solve problems end-to-end.
• Collaborate in a fast-paced environment involving different stakeholders and subject matter experts.
• Using your Fullstack development skills to build tools that extract key information from documents and connect data, such that users can make the most of their industrial data
• Design and implement elegant APIs, user experiences, and the underlying infrastructure that leverage smart algorithms and AI
• Participate in discussions around technical direction and product improvements.
• Work closely with our skilled users to understand their needs and build products to help them succeed.

Our Product team is at the core of developing Cognite Data Fusion into a robust and scalable platform for solving critical industrial data problems. This work is central to transforming asset-intensive industries - making them safer, more sustainable, and more profitable. Cognite Data Fusion makes operational data available at scale, adding immense value through advanced data processing. This empowers industries to make truly data-driven decisions. Our platform leverages many different technologies, each chosen for its ability to solve specific challenges effectively.

The Impact you bring to Cognite

A typical day as a Full Stack Engineer working at Cognite will contain the following tasks & responsibilities

• Work with a wide range of systems, processes, and technologies and own and solve problems end-to-end.

• Work closely with our skilled users to understand their needs and build products to help them succeed.

We believe most of these should match your experience

• You have 2-5 years of fullstack software engineering experience.
• You write well-structured, efficient, and maintainable code and actively keep the quality of the codebase in check.
• You can learn new coding languages and use the language that best fits the purpose. In particular, you have hands-on experience with Python and any Python backend framework (FastAPI, Flask, Django). Previous experience writing code in Kotlin is a plus.
• You have front-end experience in frameworks like React, Angular, Vue, or something similar and a solid grasp of JavaScript and enjoy the benefits of TypeScript.
• You have experience with some of the following: Google Cloud Platform services, Azure, and/or AWS. Experience with cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, Docker, and other related technologies
• You have experience with distributed open-source software such as Kubernetes, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and similar
• You have a passion for emerging web technologies
• You have experience with prompt engineering and integrating with large language models through e.g. langchain, fabric
• You are pragmatic about unit testing, integration testing, and E2E testing.
• You have a bachelor's degree or more in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar, or equivalent experience.
