Job summary

Lambda is seeking Senior or Staff Software Engineers to build and operate distributed GPU cloud services, shaping compute infrastructure and platform capabilities across compute control planes, Kubernetes, cloud APIs, identity, usage metering, and billing.

You will own full lifecycle from design to on-call, drive reliability, security, testing, and cross-team collaboration, with Staff level expected to guide architecture and raise the technical ceiling.

Qualifications

7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Proficiency in Go or Python with concurrency and testing.
Experience designing and operating backend services at scale.
Proven track record delivering complex cross-functional work.
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate services, APIs, and platform capabilities powering Lambda’s GPU cloud.
Tackle distributed-systems challenges including state, concurrency, and failure recovery.
Own end-to-end lifecycle from design to on-call and incident response.
Improve availability, latency, throughput, and security as the system scales.
Collaborate with product, infrastructure, networking, storage, security, and SRE teams.
Mentor others and contribute to cross-team architecture at Staff level.
