Job summary

District Partners seeks a Staff-level engineer to anchor the cloud platform architecture for a government-focused program. You will own end-to-end technical strategy, cloud network design, and IaC patterns across a multi-account AWS estate.

You will also shape security controls and deployment pipelines while partnering with engineering leadership. We value senior ICs who can operate with ambiguity, lead large cross-functional efforts, and present credibly in technical and leadership forums.

Qualifications

• 7 to 15 years of professional engineering experience building, delivering, and operating scalable, secure cloud systems.
• Deep AWS expertise across compute, systems management, databases, scaling strategies, and resilient multi-AZ architecture.
• Experience with IaC and automation, plus security controls for regulated workloads.

Responsibilities

• Define technical strategy and end-to-end architecture for the platform.
• Design cloud network architecture across a multi-account AWS estate (VPCs, subnets, Route53, Transit Gateways, firewalls).
• Develop the IaC backbone (CloudFormation or Terraform) and automation to govern platform evolution.
• Lead replatforming and rehosting efforts within AWS.
• Shape identity and access architecture at scale, IAM, and federated access patterns.
• Oversee observability, reliability, and disaster recovery design including monitoring and SLOs.
• Institute CI/CD standards and testing rigor for platform components.
• Represent the platform function in cross-functional leadership forums.
