Metropolis Technologies in Seattle, WA is seeking a Senior Central Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to architect, scale, and maintain highly resilient cloud environments across multiple products. You will lead modernization efforts (CI/CD, IaC, Kubernetes, and more), guide junior engineers, ensure security and compliance, and drive incident response with blameless postmortems.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science or related field; 5+ years in cloud infra, or 8+ years with equivalent experience.
• Hands-on AWS, Terraform, and Python automation experience.
• Experience with observability stacks (Datadog) and defining SLOs/SLIs.
• Kubernetes/EKS, Helm, and service mesh (Envoy/Istio) expertise.
• Secrets management incl. Infisical/Vault/AWS Secrets Manager; PCI/SOC2 focus.
• Experience with MSK (Kafka) and AWS DBs like Aurora; strong security practices.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and maintain scalable, secure cloud infrastructure environments across multiple products.
• Design and manage infrastructure modernization initiatives (CI/CD, IaC, Kubernetes) and complex integrations.
• Craft disaster recovery strategies and production-grade solutions to safeguard uptime.
• Serve as technical focal point for troubleshooting and incident response; lead root-cause analyses.
• Ensure cloud environments meet PCI and SOC2 security and compliance guidelines.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior/mid-level engineers to scale capability.
