Bluetooth SIG, Inc. in Kirkland, WA is seeking an experienced Cloud Operations leader to mature the IT team responsible for tools, services, data, and cybersecurity to deliver its mission and support member companies.

This role will grow and leverage cloud capabilities, driving a cloud-first Azure architecture, enhancing security, leading day-to-day operations, and developing a diverse team aligned with our cloud operations vision.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of people management experience with accountability and mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead Cloud Operations strategy, roadmap, and team development.

• Manage budgets for hardware, software, and cloud services.
• Oversee disaster recovery capabilities and IaC adoption (Terraform).
• Expand DevOps collaboration with software engineering for deployments.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced leader to further mature the Cloud operations (IT) team at the Bluetooth SIG. This individual will be responsible for tools, services, data, and cyber-security needed to deliver its mission and support its member companies.

This role will help grow and leverage our Cloud operations capabilities. This individual will have the opportunity to:

• Improve and drive a cloud 1st architecture utilizing Azure
• Improve the security landscape for the organization and its data
• Drive projects and day-to-day operations that positively impact the entire organization
• Lead and develop a diverse team of individuals in support of our cloud operations vision

Roles and Responsibilities

Team Management & Leadership

• Develop and implement a cohesive vision for Cloud Operations
• Lead department planning for operational and project work
• Standardize the documentation of work processes and policies across the team
• Establish, maintain, and deliver on a calendar of reoccurring work activities across the team
• Grow, motivate, and manage a team of diverse direct reports
• Develop an inventory of skills across the team to ensure appropriate levels of cross-training and support
• Support the team as needed in the delivery of day-to-day and project work

Cloud Operations

• Develop and drive forward a vision and roadmap for Cloud Operations
• Establish and maintain high standards of resiliency, quality, security, reliability, and maintainability in day-to-day work, project deliverables, software and hardware solutions, and cloud solutions
• Establish, implement, and monitor organizational security policies based on industry best practices
• Develop and maintain budgets for owned hardware, software, vendor, and cloud services
• Maintain and regularly validate organizational disaster recovery capabilities
• Work to expand an already robust DevOps culture, partnering with the software engineering teams to streamline the operational deployment of new code
• Continue expanding the use of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform
• Expand the use of code repositories (Github)

• Demonstrated experience using data and metrics to back up assumptions, evaluate outcomes and challenge conventional wisdom
• Ability to architect and develop technical solutions, especially those leveraging new technologies
• Experience with identifying and implementing industry best practices for technology projects
• In-depth knowledge with 3+ years of experience with Azure.
• In-depth knowledge of and ability to apply industry best practices for cloud and on-premises networking, systems administration, and the full Microsoft stack.
• Experience with Cloud, IT, and DevOps best practices.
