Job summary

Ciena is seeking an experienced SE Director for the Global Cloud Networking team to lead a team of sales engineers and drive hardware and software direction with major accounts in the Northwest region. You will collaborate across engineering, deployment, and executive staff to align products to customer needs.

The role requires deep cloud networking, SDN, and data center expertise, with strong communication and leadership to influence product introductions and ensure excellent customer

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, CS, EE, or equivalent required.
• 12 to 15+ years in telecommunications data communications with networking software & hardware, architecture, PLM and/or solution development.
• Sales management experience preferred; prior ICP experience strongly preferred.
• Experience leading a sales engineering team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and build a Sales Engineering team delivering standard methodologies across engineering, support, operations, and NPI.
• Collaborate with engineering, services, and operations to provide exceptional customer experience.
• Present business strategy reviews to senior management on opportunities, gaps, and risks.
• Oversee solutions sales and business development for GCN—software, routing, and edge strategies.
